Kuwait Red Crescent Society hands Eid meat to 1,500 families in Sudan

KHARTOUM, The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) implemented a project to distribute meat to more than 1,500 families at displaced people shelters in the city of Port Sudan over two days on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha. Kuwaiti Ambassador to Sudan Dr. Fahad Al-Thafeeri told KUNA that this project is the first of its kind by the society, which previously focused on health, food and medical aid, appreciating the society's management in Kuwait for launching this project, in cooperation with the Sudanese Red Crescent Society. Al-Thafeeri explained that this project came as an extension of the ongoing humanitarian support since the outbreak of war in Sudan, where 18 aid planes and ships, in addition to a cancer drug ship, at a cost of one million dollars, were send by the KRCS to Sudan. Ambassador Al-Thafeerin confirmed the continuation of Kuwaiti humanitarian support for the brothers in Sudan, noting that a delegation including the Humanitarian Aid Commissioner and representatives of the Ministry of Health and the authorities concerned with relief work in Sudan will visit the State of Kuwait soon to hold meetings with the Ministry of Health, the Kuwaiti Joint Relief Committee and the Red Crescent Society to coordinate humanitarian work and arrange priorities and needs.
